Anything can happen while vacation but what you dont want to have is a lost of your stuff and especially passport .
Its a hustle but these are some tips based on our exprience .
1: Always make sure that you have a photocopied version of your passport .
2:Immediatle you find out the your passport is missing go the nearest police (box) koban
and report it , they might not speak english very well but will help you .if you inform our staff at tokyo or the kyoto hostel we will write a letter for you and help you out .
3:Get a police report and then send it to your embassy . each country has it proccedure of processing passports but this tips its the best way out .
NB: may advise dont loose your passport .
